El Lay’s Best Soups
The Long Beach Press-Telegram published a story about the best soups to be found in the L.A. region. In the category of matzo ball soup, while acknowledging the quality of Canter’s and Langer’s versions, they proclaim the superiority of Brent’s Deli‘s chicken soup with the softball-sized, schmaltz-impregnated matzo meal dumplings. Without the matzo balls, though, they say El Nopal‘s deceptively plain-looking Oaxacan chicken soup is tops with its rich, earthy flavors. Read the story to see their choices for best French onion, pozole, beef noodle, clam chowder, pho, fish stew, and vegetarian soups.
Great Soup in Greenwich CT
Speaking of great soup, here are some of Greenwich, CT’s finest, as chosen by the Greenwich Daily Voice. Meli-Melo always has a spectacular array of fresh, homemade soups. Stop by Asiana Cafe for seafood coconut curry soup or get a bowl of chicken noodle soup at Sweet Pea’s Baking Company in Old Greenwich. Check out the story for more soup suggestions.
