Ratings

A note about the ratings: we generally only write about the eateries we like, usually the ones we like a lot. If we don’t like it, it’s unlikely you’ll find it on these pages. Once in a while, if our opinion differs from the prevailing wisdom about a noteworthy restaurant, we’ll post a less than glowing review, but we never do hatchet jobs. Hatchet jobs are fun to read, and easy to write, but, pretentious as it may sound, we try to hold ourselves up to a higher standard.

We are tough graders. While we can usually find something good about almost anyplace, we resist handing out high grades willy-nilly. So don’t view two-car ratings as backhanded compliments. We like those places!

  1. You should come check out all the new restaurants in Allentown since the opening of the PPL Center, home of the Phantoms minor league hockey team. I know a person who lives there and you would be welcome to stay.
