The first Alma Center Strawberry Festival was held way back in 1945, and the local Lions Club upholds the tradition to this day. First thing to know about this three-day party: there’ll be strawberry shortcake! Isn’t that enough? But there’s more: how about brats (this is Wisconsin, after all) and chicken and hot pork sandwiches?
When you’re not eating, you can always pass the time at the carnival, view the parade, or quench your thirst at the beer tent. There’ll also be a fun run, activities for the kids including their own parade, horseshoe, volleyball, softball, bean bag toss, volleyball, soccer, and baseball tournaments (gotta work off all that strawberry shortcake!), and a classic car and tractor show. Of course, there’ll be plenty of live music (and karaoke). And don’t miss the coronation of the queen on Friday night. For more information, see the festival website.
