America’s Top 21 Hot Dogs

A best hot dog list apparently is released on a daily basis. Why? Because people love ’em – hot dogs AND best lists. We read them not only to see what they have to say about our favorites (the yellow-relish-topped deep-fried rippers from Rutt’s Hut of Clifton, NJ appears on today’s list in question) but to pick up on the new, unfamiliar joints (Luscher’s of Dallas, TX, from a fancy-pants chef). You’ll also find coneys, Sonoran dogs, half-smokes, and dogs topped with SpaghettiOs on the list. Have at it!

Good list of good places with good eats. Cool to see Olneyville NY System in RI on the list; I’m embarrassed to say that at one time their weiners were an actual food group in my diet. I still visit the place whenever I’m in the area to visit family. But, I can’t understand the omission of Super Duper Weenie in Fairfield, CT. Easily one of the most innovative dog houses in the nation. Besides, how many on this list have been on Guy Fieri’s show, written about in the NY Times, and ranked as one of “America’s 10 Best Hot Dog Joints” by Gourmet Magazine. These Thrillist guys need to do a bit more homework. 😉

Embarrassed? Why, it’s a badge of honor!

Me? If I had one to choose, I’d take a Katz’s dog that’s been on the flat top a long. long time (or, better yet, a knoblewurst).
